PITTSBURGH (AP) - Sidney Crosby scored in his second straight game and added an assist to help the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the New Jersey Devils 5-2 on Sunday night.
Crosby, who snapped out of a career-long 12-game goal drought Saturday, gave the Penguins some breathing room with a wrist shot by goalie Martin Brodeur early in the third period. It was Crosby's first goal at home since scoring twice in his season debut against the New York Islanders on Nov. 21.
Evgeni Malkin also had a goal and an assist for the Penguins to push his points total to 97, tops in the NHL. Pittsburgh has won 10 straight at Consol Energy Center and moved back within a point of the New York Rangers for the top stop in the Eastern Conference.
Chris Kunitz, Jordan Staal and Pascal Dupuis added goals. Dupuis extended his points streak to a career-best 10 games, the longest active streak in the league.
Zach Parise and Ilya Kovalchuk scored for New Jersey and Brodeur made 23 saves, but couldn't stop the slumping Devils from falling to 1-3-1 in their last five games.
BLUES 4, COYOTES 0
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Brian Elliott made 20 saves for his eighth shutout and St. Louis' franchise-record 14th of the season in the NHL-leading Blues' over Phoenix.
Elliott extended his shutout streak to 127:38, and tied the Rangers' Henrik Lundqvist and the Kings' Jonathan Quick for the NHL lead in shutouts. Elliott and Jaroslav Halak have combined for 14 shutouts to break the team mark of 13 set by Glenn Hall and Jacques Plante in 1968-69. Elliott and Halak are the first goalie pair in NHL history to each have at least six shutouts in one season.
Alex Pietrangelo and David Backes scored each scored power-play goals, and Patrik Berglund and Ryan Reaves connected at even strength to help the Blues increase their points total to 103, two more than the Rangers.
The Coyotes remained seventh in the Western Conference with 87 points, one point ahead of Los Angeles, San Jose and Colorado.
BRUINS 3, DUCKS 2
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Marty Turco won for the first time in the NHL in more than 13 months with the help of a disallowed goal that would have tied it, and Boston got second-period goals from Zdeno Chara and Benoit Pouliot less than 1 1/2 minutes apart to beat Anaheim.
Anaheim's Matt Beleskey beat Turco to the stick side with a wrist shot just inside the left post at 7:22 of the third period, but teammate Andrew Cogliano had both feet in the crease and was pressed up against Turco when the puck went in. NHL officials in Toronto examined replays and ruled no goal.
Brian Rolston then gave Boston a 3-1 lead with 6:54 to play.
Anaheim's Lobomir Visnovsky completed the scoring with 2:29 left.
Turco, playing his third game with the Bruins, went the distance for the first time and made 25 saves for his first win since Feb. 1, 2011, when he stopped 29 shots in Chicago's 7-4 victory at Columbus.
Teemu Selanne scored a power-play goal for Anaheim.
CAPITALS 3, WILD 0
WASHINGTON (AP) - Alex Ovechkin scored his ninth goal in seven games, and Washington pulled back into the final Eastern Conference playoff spot with victory over Minnesota.
Jason Chimera and Mathieu Perrault also scored, and Braden Holtby made 28 saves in his fourth start of the season as the Capitals broke a two-game skid to move back into a tie on points with the Buffalo Sabres, with Washington holding the tiebreaker. The Capitals and Sabres, both with just six games remaining in the regular season, meet in Washington on Tuesday night.
Matt Hackett made 20 saves for the Wild.
PREDATORS 6, BLACKHAWKS 1
CHICAGO (AP) - Pekka Rinne made 24 saves and Nashville ended Chicago winning streak at five games.
Matt Halischuk, Andrei Kostitsyn, Patric Hornqvist, Francis Bouillon, Shea Weber and Mike Fisher scored for the Predators, who matched their season high with the six goals. Viktor Stalberg had Chicago's lone score.
The victory sends the Predators into fourth place in the Western Conference with 96 points, one ahead of Detroit and four more than the sixth-place Blackhawks. Nashville is now 4-0-1 against Chicago this season.
Nashville's leading scorer Martin Erat, who has tied a career high with 57 points, was scratched with an upper-body injury, although he logged 19 minutes Saturday night in a win over Winnipeg.
And Chicago played its first game without suspended defenseman Duncan Keith. Keith got five games for elbowing Vancouver's Daniel Sedin in the head in the Blackhawks' previous game Wednesday night.
ISLANDERS 3, PANTHERS 2, SO
SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) - Frans Nielsen scored the only goal to lift New York past Florida.
Kyle Okposo and Matt Moulson scored in regulation, and Evgeni Nabokov stopped 33 shots.
Tomas Fleischmann, and Stephen Weiss scored for Florida, and Jose Theodore made 35 saves.
Florida is three points ahead of Washington for the Southeast Division beat.
OILERS 6, BLUE JACKETS 3
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ryan Jones had a goal and two assists, Chris VandeVelde scored his first NHL goal and Edmonton beat Columbus in a matchup of the NHL's worst teams.
Ladislav Smid, Ben Eager, Sam Gagner and Eric Belanger also scored, and Ryan Nugent Hopkins, Jordan Eberle and Ryan Whitney each had two assists for the Oilers.
Rick Nash scored on a penalty shot and Mark Letestu and Derick Brassard added for Columbus. The loss assured the Blue Jackets of having the worst record in the NHL this season.
