SE Missouri teacher accused of misconduct with student

SIKESTON, Mo. (AP) - A junior high teacher in southeast Missouri has been charged with sending explicit photographs and inappropriately touching a 14-year-old student.

The Southeast Missourian (http://bit.ly/GK1m7e) reported that 28-year-old Andrew J. Delles of Jackson faces three counts of enticement of a child and three counts of sexual misconduct of a child.

The charges were filed Friday after the Sikeston R-6 School District reported that Delles was having inappropriate conduct with a student.

A news release from the Sikeston Department of Public Safety says school officials told police that they were investigating allegations of "inappropriate electronic communications" between Delles and one of his female students.

On Thursday, Delles was placed on paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation.

No attorney is listed for him in online court records.
