Calvary-Tolton baseball set to go with 12 players

On a lot of baseball teams, nine spots isn't enough for all the players who want to get on the field.

For the Calvary-Tolton Lions, nine might just be a few too many.

As they enter their second season of varsity baseball, the Lions have just 12 players on their roster. And when you consider the fact two of them are nursing injuries, then the situation becomes even more dire.

Factor in a schedule that boasts one Class 3 team, six Class 2 squads and two tournaments for the Class 1 Lions and it's shaping up to be an interesting spring. The first step, weather permitting, comes at 5 p.m. today at Countryside Park in Taos against Warsaw.
