FULTON, Mo. - The William Woods Owls opened American Midwest Conference play Tuesday with a doubleheader sweep of Hannibal-LaGrange.
MacKenzie Bowden (Jefferson City High School) twirled a three-hit shutout as the Owls won the first game 8-0 in five innings. She struck out 10 and walked just one.
In the second game, it was Kelsey Schulte's turn to get a shutout, as she threw a six-hitter in a 3-0 win for William Woods. Schulte (Eugene High School) struck out three and walked three.
