The baseball postseason is nearly two months away.

The Helias Crusaders are going to use that time as best they can to be as prepared as possible when the playoffs begin.

"The players and coaches realize the season is going to be a grind," Helias coach Chris Wyrick said as the Crusaders get set to open the season today against the Hickman Kewpies at the American Legion Sports Complex. "We're going to take some lumps here and there, but we're going to dish them out as well.

"We're building toward the end of the season. We just want to get better."
