Mo. man found in river identified as 27-year-old

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - Greene County authorities have released the name of a man whose body was found floating in the James River.

The Springfield News-Leader (http://sgfnow.co/xnOnfE) reported that the man was identified as 27-year-old James B. Richardson. His body was found Thursday evening on the river east of Springfield.

Authorities are investigating the death as a homicide.

Sheriff Jim Arnott has said it is difficult to say how long the man had been dead but he estimated about one week. It is not clear if the man died nearby or was dumped in the river.
