KIMBERLING CITY, Mo. (AP) — Authorities in southwestern Missouri say one person has died in the crash of a small plane during an attempted landing on Table Rock Lake.

The crash happened Tuesday afternoon just east of the Kimberling City bridge. The name of the man who died has not been released.

Eric Nielsen, of the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District, tells KSPR-TV (http://bit.ly/zBSwXZ ) the plane was fitted with pontoons. The pilot was trying to land on the water when the plane flipped end over end.
