KIRKSVILLE — The Lincoln softball team picked up its first Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association win of the season Saturday, salvaging a split of a doubleheader with Truman State by taking the second game.
Truman opened the twinbill with a 6-4 win, jumping out to a 6-0 lead after five innings.
Lincoln rallied in a big way, putting up four runs in the top of the sixth, but couldn’t complete the comeback.
The Blue Tigers then got their first conference win of the season by snagging a 3-2 win in the nightcap.
Lincoln is now 5-13 over and 1-3 the MIAA, while Truman is 10-11 and 1-1.
The Blue Tigers play again Wednesday when they travel to Drury for a doubleheader.
