Lincoln frustrated in softball doubleheader

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Lincoln softball team had a frustrating day at the plate Friday, as the Blue Tigers failed to produce any runs while dropping a pair of games to the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats.

In the lidlifter of Friday's doubleheader, the Blue Tigers managed just two hits - a first-inning single by Lauren McMinn and a fifth-inning single by Brianna Akers - while losing an 8-0 decision in a game shortened to five innings due to the run rule.

In the nightcap, Lincoln actually outhit Northwest Missouri State 9-7, but still dropped a 4-0 decision.

The Blue Tigers will play a doubleheader at 1 p.m. today at Truman State.
