ROLLA, Mo. - Wednesday night was a case of the fantastic first being better than the furious finish.
The California Pintos used a great start to their Class 3 sectional contest with Blair Oaks and then held off a wild rally by the Falcons in the fourth quarter to emerge with a 50-47 victory.
"I'm glad the game is over," an obviously exhausted California coach Blair Scanlon said after the win at Missouri S&T. "We make stuff interesting, but I'm just glad we got a win."
