Man begins vigil to save his trees

A local man has spent much of the last two days on a ladder tied to one of four trees in his yard that a power company plans to cut down.
Dwight Lemmons, 1209 Biscayne Drive, says he’s fighting to protect the trees, which are targeted because they are within 100 feet of a transmission power line owned by Central Electric Power Cooperative.
The power co-op has cut down trees along many of his neighbors’ homes along Old Lohman Road, but has skipped his for now.
