St. Elizabeth's late rally not quite enough in sectional loss

SEDALIA, Mo. - The St. Elizabeth Hornets had the Glasgow Yellowjackets right where they wanted them.

Once down by as many as 15 points, a 3-pointer from Connor Beck pulled the Hornets into a tie at 39 midway through the fourth quarter of Tuesday night's Class 1 sectional game at Smith-Cotton High School.

But St. Elizabeth didn't have another big shot in them.

"We couldn't quite get over the hump," St. Elizabeth coach Leroy Heckemeyer said after the Hornets dropped a 51-42 decision to the Yellowjackets.
