Jefferson City police are investigating reports of gunshots being fired along a downtown alley.
Two shots rang out around 1:10 a.m. along Commercial Way near the city parking garage and two adjacent bars. Police reported finding shell casings when they canvassed the area.
One person was taken into custody for an alleged weapons violation during the investigation, but it reportedly was unrelated to the gun discharge.
