Pirates, Hornets advance in Class 1

ST. ELIZABETH, Mo. — The Chamois Pirates and St. Elizabeth Hornets will meet for the Class 1 District 9 Tournament title after semifinal victories Thursday night.

Chamois (17-6), the top seed, had three players score in double figures in a 58-29 victory over Prairie Home.

Klayton Kuschel led the trio with 22 points. Eli Strobel added 13, while Clay Nolte chipped in with 11. Chamois jumped out to an 18-6 lead after one quarter and took a 39-12 advantage into halftime.

St. Elizabeth (14-10), the No. 2 seed, rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit to defeat Tuscumbia 64-53.
