Paddlers will race for dome

More than 80 canoeists and kayakers will be paddling their way to Missouri's Capitol Dome during the annual Race to the Dome this Saturday, with the race finishing at the Noren Access in North Jefferson City.
Race to the Dome is a canoe/kayak race on the Missouri River with two race courses from Providence to Jefferson City (26.6 miles) and Hartsburg to Jefferson City (15.8 miles).
Proceeds from the race go to Missouri River Relief to support efforts reconnect people to the Missouri River through hands on river cleanups and education.
The race will start at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Perche Creek Access and Hartsburg Access. The race will start in heats by division. Depending on the heat, racers should be finishing as soon as 10 a.m.
