Woman charged with animal neglect

A Jefferson City woman was charged Tuesday with misdemeanor animal neglect for failing to provide adequate care for her dog.

Prosecutors charged Angela Bull, 31, of 5409 Business 50 West, with failing to provide food and water for "Roscoe," a mastiff-type dog she "had in her custody or ownership," and she failed to provide medical care for the dog's mouth, which resulted in substantial harm to the animal.

A Cole County sheriff's probable cause statement indicated an animal control officer was called to the residence in late May, and a deputy visited with Bull on June 11.
