Lexi Nicole Miller, 21, left, and Chad Thomas Elliott, 29, face charges in Cole County of abusing her 2-year-old son.

Lexi Nicole Miller, 21, left, and Chad Thomas Elliott, 29, face charges in Cole County of abusing her 2-year-old son.

A Russellville woman — identified as Lexi Nicole Miller, 21 — was charged Tuesday with abusing her 2-year-old son.

Also charged with two counts of child abuse is Chad Thomas Elliott, 29, who lived in the same home. Both are being held in the Cole County Jail on $50,000 bond each.

The reports don’t identify Elliott’s relationship with Miller or with the victim.

The Cole County Sheriff’s Department listed several complaints of abuse occurring at a residence in the 4800 block of Marion Street.

I'm sure they're valued Walmart shoppers...not that there's anything wrong with that.

Why shouldn't they? The more children you have the more money you get from the government. Its a free ride!

This little boy is my nephew and I personially know lexi and Chad. I never would have thought they would do something like this. They were the type of people you would leave your kid with so I am flabbergasted at what they have done.

Sorry. Can you qualify as a foster parent? I think the little boy needs some.

Inquiring minds: If you case net him ( for proof) you will see that his most RECENT charges before this are domestic assault in the 3rd degree on Lexi and Unlawful Use Of Drug Paraphernalia- this was just june 2nd! Of course they have his name spelt incorrectly so you have to casenet Chad Elliot instead of Elliott.

Was she recently abused, as well? Casenet shows a pending Domestic Assualt charge against Chad. (22 days before this arrest

Ohhh my...what a crock...that "This little boy is my nephew and I personially know lexi and Chad. I never would have thought they would do something like this. They were the type of people you would leave your kid with so I am flabbergasted at what they have done." statement is Horse Pooh. To say nobody, nobody in this family saw the signs that something was wrong is the stuff that makes me puke. Somebody saw something and chose to ignore what they saw....I mean, I know nobody wants to think somebody they know, love and befriend would do something like this, but the truth is that in most all cases like this...somebody did/does know. BUT THEY DID/DO NOTHING ABOUT IT!!!!! So Rach as much as I do feel sympathy for you...IT AIN'T MUCH, CASUE DUDE/MISSY YOU AIN'T THE VICITM, THE ABUSED KID IS.

The Cole County Sheriff’s Department listed several complaints of abuse occurring at a residence in the 4800 block of Marion Street. That's where your very nice neighborly people lived. Obviously the cops didn't have enough to make charges stick before now.....but if somebody... a family memeber, friend, noisy neighbor or concerned citizen would have helped the Po-Po make the case, then perhaps this would have been caught much sooner. Again that..."they were the nicest people" stuff is pure Pooh!!!!

I hope the child recover's fully and goes on to be a decent person.

I hope this child is adopted by a couple who will love him and raise him to be a fine young man.

I agree Mokyfellow..and by a couple who will smother him with hugs and kisses and unconditional love. I read the story in the paper earlier, I had no idea the entire story wasn't online here and I almost wish I had not read it. Sick, just sick and awful and sad. I want to hug that child and show him the love he obviously didn't get from the person he was supposed to, his mother. To punish a child for potty accidents is just so wrong, and to this extreme makes me want to smash their faces in their own feces and see how they like it. He's ONLY two years old!! Most boys aren't fully trained until 3 or after. Obviously these "parents" never picked up a parenting magazine or book for help. My heart breaks for what this boy has had to go through in his short life. I'm glad something has been done to end his nightmare before they hurt him again or worse...

They were not druggies and they are good people. Im not sure exactly what happened and neither do any of u! Im not saying what happened was right but i do know both of them and they have always been good parents.

Um Rach.."good people" do not BEAT a small TWO YEAR OLD child, good people do not smear poo on their child's face for having a potty accident!! Good people do not beat their TWO YEAR OLD with a belt buckle!! These are not GOOD PARENTS OR GOOD PEOPLE. Sorry...you obviously did not see what was going on in that home and they had you fooled or you have a totally warped view of "good parenting." Per the article these are things they ADMITTED to. That child will be forever traumatized and scarred from the damage done by the one person who was supposed to teach him love and trust.

Thank you @ not suprised....I am however suprised that your calls and mine have not been enough to do something until now! I am even more concerned now that I know others have called. I'm just glad that my call monday was finally responded to!

I know Lexi personally. Chad, not so much. Is this her, absolutely no. Him, I cannot answer. Am I trying to justify what has happened no. And for someone to state that they come from drug addict families. How well do you know the families? Lexi's father and his family are not drug addicts. The most important thing here is that little boy and getting him with family who love him and will show him that. I do know that there are good people fighting for him and that fight is being road blocked by people who may not have his best interest at heart. Tonight and tomorrow and in the future we pray for this little boy. We also pray that he ends up with his own family (not Lexi) who have his best interest in mind.

I am not trying to justify anything that has happened because noone should ever hurt a child! I was just saying that I know both of them and I never seen anything that would have suggested this. I have saw chad with his daughter and she is his world and the lil. boy was lexis world. I do not know if they were on hard drugs and neither do any of you!

The little boy does deserve to be with someone that loves him!!
