The cause for a fire Wednesday afternoon at a Jefferson City automotive repair shop is still under investigation.
The fire at Propst Auto Service, 2421 Industrial Drive, was called in around 2:50 p.m.
The fire was in the back of the business and was contained to an outside storage area, but some parts of the inside of the business did have damage.
Mel's Restaurant is in the front of the building and the restaurant was evacuated, but that part of the structure was not damaged.
Due to the excessive heat, additional units were called out to make sure that if more personnel were needed they would be on hand.
Ambulance personnel were on the scene to make sure firefighters had water and were kept hydrated.
No injuries were reported.
