Transfers set to replace talented senior class for basketball Tigers

A quick glance at the Missouri men’s basketball roster shows few familiar names from last year’s 30-win squad.

With only Michael Dixon and Phil Pressey returning, there are plenty of new faces around Mizzou Arena these days.

Connecticut transfer Alex Oriakhi is one of those new faces who should give the Tigers an immediate boost in the low post.

“He’s a great addition,” Missouri coach Frank Haith said during Monday’s Southeastern Conference coaches teleconference.

Oriakhi, a 6-foot-9 forward, decided to leave Connecticut after the Huskies were banned from the NCAA Tournament due to a low academic progress rate. He provides height Missouri sorely missed at times last season.
