Four men and women from Fulton and Russellville were arrested Saturday and Sunday after a Callaway County resident came home to find them leaving with his farm equipment.
The Callaway County Sheriff's Office received a report of stealing in progress around 4:21 p.m. June 23 when a Stephens man returned to his home on County Road 269 just in time to find a truck hauling his farm machinery off his property on a trailer.
The resident pursued the suspect vehicle, which had turned east on County Road 266 from State Route DD before driving into a field with a blown tire.
Sheriff's deputies and Highway Patrol officers responded to the area, where they found Wendell S. Belisle, 37, Fulton, hiding near the truck.
Though a search did not locate any other suspects, an overnight investigation led to the arrest of Angelia Clark, 41, Russellville; John D. Belisle,
33, Fulton; and Timothy Valdez, 48, Fulton, near Calwood and Kingdom City.
All four were charged with felony stealing and trespassing, and have been released pending court appearance.
