MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Lindsay Whalen scored 25 points and the Minnesota Lynx beat the Chicago Sky 79-67 Saturday.

Taj McWilliams-Franklin scored 12 points, and Seimone Augustus and Maya Moore added 10 each for Minnesota (12-1), which has won two straight after its lone loss of the year last Sunday. All of Augustus's points were in the second half.

Sylvia Fowles had 22 points and 13 rebounds for her ninth double-double in 10 games to lead Chicago (7-3). Sonja Petrovic added 13 points and Swin Cash 11 for the Sky, who have lost two straight to drop to second place in the Eastern Conference.

Down by 17 points at halftime, Chicago (7-3) scored the first 12 points of the third quarter to get to 51-46. Moore scored Minnesota's first points of the second half more than 7 minutes into the frame and added a 3-pointer the next time down the floor. Whalen's layup gave the Lynx a 66-52 lead early in the fourth.

FEVER 73, SHOCK 70

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Tammy Sutton-Brown made a tiebreaking free throw with 37 seconds to play and Tamika Catchings added a key offensive rebound, assist and a pair of free throws down the stretch to lead Indiana.

Sutton-Brown's free throw gave the Fever (7-4) the lead for good, 68-67. She missed the second attempt and Catchings, who had a team-high 16 points, came up with the rebound. The reigning WNBA MVP then passed it to Erin Phillips for a 3-pointer from the right wing with 16 seconds remaining.

Tulsa's Temeka Johnson made a 3 to bring the Shock (1-11) within one with 12 seconds to play, but Catchings added two free throws 3 seconds later for the final margin.

Ivory Latta missed a game-tying 3-point attempt with 3 seconds to go.

SPARKS 93, MERCURY 84

PHOENIX (AP) - Kristi Toliver scored a career-high 29 points as Los Angeles took a big lead early and cruised past Phoenix.

Alana Beard added 18 points and Jantel Lavender 11 points and nine rebounds for the Sparks (10-3), who led by 22 at halftime. Los Angeles has won eight of 10, including three straight after losing back-to-back games last weekend.

Rookie Sammy Prahalis scored a season-high 22 points and had five assists and four steals while DeWanna Bonner had 24 points for the Mercury (3-8). Phoenix, which pulled within seven points in the final 2 minutes, has lost four of its last five.

Candace Parker, the league's third-leading scorer at 19.8 points a game, did not play for the Sparks due to a sore knee.
