Your Opinion: LGBT promotion offensive

Dear Editor:

The letter published by the News Tribune June 11 from Kephen Merancis, Linn, concerning LGBT people is once again an attempt to promote LGBT people as a normal part of society. Nothing could be further from the truth. I will not pretend to know what makes them tick. However it offends me that they continue to promote it as normal activity.

When I was a child some 60 years ago we learned about LGBT people and were taught to avoid their advances. We knew they existed however most of them had the decency not to promote it openly, i.e. stay in the closet.

Mr. Merancis tells us that he is a man of science reason and logic. If that is the case hasn’t he figured out that God created human beings as male and female. That is how we procreate. It offends me that LGBT people promote their lifestyle in public schools beginning with children in kindergarten. I know that many people deceive themselves to explain away God. As a believer in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior I make a reference to a passage spoken by Jesus about offending children.

In the Gospel of Matthew chapter 18 verse six there is an explanation about offending children.

Pray for our nation and the world that we get off of this path of destruction.
