Jays hope past wrestling success can lead to more of the same

Jefferson City wrestling coach Phil Cagle is pretty sure about one thing. He may never coach another wrestler who pins everyone he faces.

“That’s a once in a lifetime thing,” Cagle said. “Hopefully it will be twice, two or three times, but you never know.”

But just because Jared Johnson has graduated, it doesn’t mean Cagle won’t have the chance to coach more championship caliber individuals and teams.

The Jays got a glimpse of who will replace Johnson, along with Hunter Neighbors and Cole Baumgartner, at this week’s team camp.
