American Legion Post 5 now 10-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Jefferson City American Legion Post 5 Seniors ran their record to 10-0 on the season by posting a pair of wins Thursday in the Springfield Howard Johnson Invitational.

Post 5 started the day by ripping Willard 9-1 in a game shortened to five innings.

In its second game, Post 5 scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh on one hit and four walks to emerge with a 2-1 win over the Central Illinois All-Stars.

Post 5 will play a pair of games today (Friday) in the event.
