Chase in court on murder case

Officially arraigned six weeks ago, Brandon Chase was in court Wednesday for a status update on the murder case against him.

He is to return to Cole County Circuit Judge Daniel Green’s court on Aug. 15 for plea or trial setting, Green said, and to deal with a probation violation complaint from a different case.

Cole County grand jurors indicted Chase, 28, of 1122 E. Elm St., on April 25 on second-degree murder, first-degree robbery and armed criminal action charges, following the April 22 killing of Keith Mosely at a Jefferson City apartment.

Grand jurors also indicted two others on the same charges.
