Former Jay McMahon gets promotion with Missouri State

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Former Jefferson City High School standout Sam McMahon was named the director of basketball operations for the Missouri State University men’s program on Monday.

Bears head basketball coach Paul Lusk announced McMahon’s promotion, as he has been with Missouri State the past two years as video coordinator.

McMahon replaces Trevyor Fisher, who stepped down from the operations position April 16 after seven years to accept a head-coaching position at Republic High School.

McMahon’s duties will include video exchange with opponents for scouting purposes, academic monitoring of players, team travel, practice coordination, game equipment and budgeting.
