Celine Dion back on stage in Vegas after illness

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Singer Celine Dion is set to take the stage in Las Vegas after inflammation in her vocal cords forced her to cancel some shows earlier this year.

Officials at Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip say the famous French-Canadian artist is returning to The Colosseum Saturday night for a 36-show summer run.

Dion announced in late February that she was cancelling shows due to a virus. Show officials say she was back in the studio in April recording songs for her new English and French albums slated for release later this year.

The singer of romantic odes including "My Heart Will Go On" and "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" returned to Caesars Palace a year ago for a three-year engagement.
