Thursday Night Live begins in Jefferson City
Monday, June 4, 2012
A youthful classic rock cover band will be the first band to perform at Thursday Night Live, which starts this week in downtown Jefferson City.
Blackwater, which consists mostly of local high school students, recently won the Jefferson City’s Got Talent Competition.
They’ll take the stage (High/ Madison street intersection) at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday, after a half-hour preview of the upcoming Salute to America festival over the Fourth of July. That preview will include the announcement of the headlining performer.
Thursday Night Live is free and open to the public and will be held each Thursday in June from 6-9 p.m. Each week features a different theme and live bands, each playing 45-minute sets.
It also features an outdoor district in which anyone of legal drinking age can get a wristband and buy a $1 cup that can be used to buy alcoholic beverages from bars/restaurants in the district.
