Helias uses summer to prepare for next basketball campaign

In this day and age of neverending sports seasons, there are plenty of weeks basketball coaches could pick as their favorite.

It’s just that you might not expect it to come at this time of year.

But that’s the case for Helias boys basketball coach Josh Buffington, whose players and staff wrapped up a week-long basketball camp Friday.

“It’s been a great week — we’re super-excited about our numbers,” Buffington said. “This is my fifth year here and the numbers keep getting better. The gym’s been packed and the kids have been excited.”
