Columbia park to host annual art event

Columbia Art League's 54th annual Art in the Park takes place this weekend at Stephens Lake Park, just east of the city's downtown area.

The free festival will feature 110 visual artists from across the United States: painters, ceramicists, wood-turners, photographers, jewelers, sculptors and fiber artists amongst them.

The festival runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Entrance is free.

Supporting the fine arts and crafts fair is a lineup of musicians and magicians on the Sandi Smith Stage. For families with children, there are also plenty of kid-specific things to do. Now in its third year, the Emerging Artist Pavilion is another crowd favorite.
