Royal opening for county fair

The 35 participants in Monday night’s Little Mr. and Miss Cole County are the cutest at the fair all week.

The annual Little Mr. And Miss contest is the first event of the fair to take the main stage.

The event ended with the crowning of Alex Lewis as Little Mr. Cole County and Caydence Hall as Little Miss Cole County.

Maria Velazquez’s daughter, Carmela, took part in the contest.

“I thought it was a good thing for her to do as a young lady,” Maria said.

Carmela was particularly excited about her brightly colored tutu dress.

“It has all of my favorite colors,” she smiled.
