Does this Co. ever stop asking for increases?? Seems as though they are always asking for one reason or another. Of course I think Sen Kehoe (soon to be Gov) is on their side, in a BIG way.

Since their rates are controlled by utility rules, and since the cost of doing business constantly grows with the economy (however slowly that may be), yes, utilities will always ask for rate increases. Hopefully the Missouri PSC is competent to judge the reqest. I know a couple of their engineers . . . they are capable. However, the staff don't actually divine the request, the officers take their recomdations and, um, tweak them.

What I don't understand is why Ameren looks to it's customers to boost it's economic revenue by asking for rate increases yearly.

Why do they ask the consumers for a bailout every year?

Can this company cut costs?

We keep granting this company rate increases to stay in business but why is the CEO of this company getting bonuses and drawing a fat pay check when his company always is in need of help in boosting economic revenue?

To me the leadership of this company is not doing their jobs.

The PSC has agreed to patronize AUE customers by pretending to listen to their economic concerns and then vote to approve the increase anyway. The PSC noted that a committee has been formed to identify the already known reasons for Missouri paying it's workers 48th out of it's lower 48 neighbors.

spelchek: You are exactly right! I worked for this Co. for 30 years and back when they were just Iowa and Mo.based, and CEO's were for their employees and customers it was a great Co. Now they have branched out and bought all the small utilities like Cips and others, they are too big for their boots and as someone stated the top brass just keep getting bonus's and raises which don't mean they are better than any one else. PSC is in their pocket and this raise will go through, Maybe not the full amount but enough it will hurt in these dire times!!!!!
