One in custody after Sunday assault in JC

On Sunday at 12:14 AM, Jefferson City police officers were dispatched to a parking lot at 116 Ventura Avenue in reference to a disturbance.

The suspect, Stacy R. Bax, a 40 year old Jefferson City resident, initially told officers that she was assaulted and that she had stabbed someone.

When officers arrived on the scene they discovered there were two victims with stab wounds.

The first victim, Leslie A. Blank, a 41 year old Jefferson City resident, had a stab wound to her buttocks.

The second victim, Shane Otto, a 37 year old Jefferson City resident, had a stab wound to his hand.

The on-scene investigation determined that Bax and Blank had been involved in a verbal altercation over the phone.

They agreed to meet and Bax became angry and pulled a butcher knife out and stabbed Blank and then Otto.

The victim's wounds were minor and they were treated at a local hospital and released.

Bax is in custody in the Cole County Jail pending charges for second-degree assault, one count for each victim, and armed criminal action.
