ST. LOUIS (AP) - Health officials in the St. Louis area say the number of heat-related illnesses for the long, hot summer has now exceeded 300.
KMOX Radio (http://cbsloc.al/Oe85K4 ) reports that 302 heat illness cases have been reported as of Friday - 180 in St. Louis County, 74 in the city and 48 in St. Charles County. That doesn't include other counties on both sides of the river.
The death toll for the region is 23. The forecast calls for dangerously hot weather to continue at least through next week.
