NEW BLOOMFIELD, Mo. — After a weekend where timely hits were at a minimum, the Jefferson City Post 5 American Legion Seniors were looking to break out the bats a little bit.

They did so in a big way in Wednesday night’s district tournament opener.

Michael Washington finished with a pair of home runs, including a grand slam, as Post 5 pounded out a 20-2 win against Fulton Post 210 at New Bloomfield High School.
