160 indictments in six months

The Cole County grand jury handed down 160 indictments during the past six months.

A report on grand jury activity was released Tuesday for the term that ran from January to the end of June.

About 225 people appeared before the grand jury, either under subpoena or on a voluntary basis, to testify and answer questions.
