Three tied for lead in Stroke Play Championship

Not much space separated the state's top amateur golfers Monday.

Twelve players are within three shots of the lead after the first round of the Missouri Golf Association Stroke Play Championship at the Jefferson City Country Club.

University of Missouri golfer Nick Wilson, Steve Groom and Brad Nurski all carded a 3-under 69 to share the lead. Wilson had a chance to take the outright lead, but took a double bogey on 15.

Just a stroke back is former Jefferson City Jay and Missouri Tiger Kirk Farmer who shot a 2-under-par 70. He's tied with Patrick Britt and Brian Hall. Farmer totaled four birdies in his round.
