Local Toastmasters celebrate 65th year

As an internationally-known musician, Art Langston rarely has had opportunity to address a large audience. But when he was a professor of music at the University of Texas, Langston often taught hundreds of students at a time.

A fellow professor invited him to join a Toastmasters club, but at the time he thought he was too busy.

“Now, I really wish I had; I think I would have been a better teacher,” Langston said.

After moving back to Jefferson City, Langston accepted another friend’s offer to attend a Toastmaster’s meeting.
