Five picked for Lions contest

Five area players have been selected to play in the 36th Annual Missouri Lions All-Star Game on Saturday.

The game, which will be held at 7 p.m. in Warrensburg on the campus of the University of Central Missouri, features graduated high school players from across the state.

The Gold team, coached by Dustin Baldwin of Miller High School, features the bulk of the area players. Those selected to the squad include Jefferson City’s Jack Young, Blair Oaks’ Austin Kempker and Eldon’s Matt Pehle and Kody Taylor.

The Blue team, which will be coached by Nathan Morgan of Caruthersville High School, features Ben Seitz of South Callaway.
