Two eighth-grade students from Osage County have won the grand prizes from the Vitae Foundation's Essay Contest on Life Issues.
Brandy Lueckenhoff, a student at St. Joseph School, Westphalia, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch for the St. Louis Cardinals game July 24, which is also Osage County Night at the Ballpark.
Morgan Becker, a student at Holy Family School, Freeburg, will visit the broadcast booth to meet announcers Mike Shannon and John Rooney.
Vitae's essay contest, supported by an Alphonse J. Schwartze Foundation grant, engaged the younger residents of Osage County in the discussion of life issues.
