Jackson County prosecutor nominated US attorney

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A prosecutor from Jackson County has been nominated to be the U.S. attorney for the Western District of Missouri.
President Barack Obama on Thursday tapped Angela Tammy Dickinson to be the top federal prosecutor in Kansas City. Dickinson has been the chief trial assistant for the Jackson County prosecutor's office since 2002. The Western District covers 66 counties, including Springfield and Jefferson City.
Dickinson also worked as an assistant prosecutor in the Jackson County prosecutor's office from 1998 to 2002 before briefly working for a private law firm. She attended law school at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
David Ketchmark currently is the acting U.S. attorney for the Western District of Missouri.
