Regional airport plan could draw business

Eventual airport expansion seen as benefit from bill waiting for signature

An eight-line section of a 65-page bill could help the Columbia Regional Airport serve all of Mid-Missouri better, its supporters said.

"It could create an airport authority, where the different counties could get together and operate the airport," Columbia Airport Manager Don Elliott explained last week.

And Randy Allen, president of the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce, said it's an idea worth backing.
