JC man faces molestation, pornography charges
Saturday, July 7, 2012
A Jefferson City man was charged Friday with child molestation and promoting child pornography for incidents that occurred between February and July.
A police probable cause statement said Grady M. Kent, 22, 214 Dunford St., had nude photographs and videos on his cell phone of a child younger than 13.
The phone was found in Kent’s bedroom. Although the phone wasn’t connected to a cellular service, it did work when charged or plugged in, police said.
Police said Kent’s mother found the photographs and videos on the phone, and identified the victim and Kent’s voice in several of the photographs and videos.
Police also said two of the photographs showed specific violations of Missouri’s sexual contact laws.
Police said Kent “has left the area and (is) unable to be located at this time.”
However, when he’s arrested, Cole County Associate Circuit Judge Thomas L. Sodergren set bond at $150,000.
