Lt. Victor Pitman has been with the Cole County Sheriff’s Department for almost two years.

Lt. Stacy Hickman, an 11-year veteran of the department, has been named assistant jail superintendent.

“I’ve known Victor since 1991 and it’s great to work with him again.” said Sheriff Greg White during a Monday press conference. “Stacy has a great knowledge of jail operations, and I think they’ll bring a great vision to their positions.”

Former superintendent Russ Bemboom, an 18-year veteran with the department, resigned in May. He said it was “to pursue another avenue in his career.”

Best wishes to them both, but th County folks gotta get off some bucks in order to help make the Cole County operation what it needs to be. Bemboom wasn't a loser, he was just working with a budget that wasn't able to help him. Just because there are newly hired people to run things now, doesn't mean things will change for the better.....the Cole County department needs to be given enough financial support to handle the modern day mission they are suppose to complete. If money suipport isn't there, round and round we go, things won't improve.
