Eldon to stage 14th annual Fourth of July celebration

ELDON, Mo. — For 13 years, the city of Eldon has made a major American holiday into an entertaining, fun event the whole family can enjoy and afford.

On Wednesday, the city will celebrate the Fourth of July with a parade, the addition of new vendors and entertainment, and a fireworks display.

The celebration will begin with the annual 5K Run/Walk, which drew about 130 participants last year. Registration begins at 7 a.m., with the event starting at 7:30 a.m.

The Fourth of July parade will return this year, lining up downtown at 9 a.m. with a 10 a.m. start.

Also at 10 a.m., the Eldon Air Park will open, where the city of Eldon’s Fourth of July Celebration’s main events will be held.
