Helias wins defensive struggle with Fatima
Sunday, January 29, 2012
COLUMBIA, Mo. — It’s hard to imagine what was more jaw-dropping — Fatima’s seven points in the first half Sunday, or the fact the Comets weren’t out of it despite that low total.
The Comets and Helias Crusaders locked horns in a defensive slugfest in the MFA Oil/Break Time Shootout, and the Crusaders eventually made enough shots to pull out a 48-33 win at Mizzou Arena.
The teams scored the exact amounts in the third and fourth quarters, so it ended up being Helias’ 14-5 edge in the first and 8-2 advantage in the second that was the difference.
