St. Louis University High rallies to defeat Jays

Fleming Fieldhouse was eerily quiet for a Friday night home basketball game.

When Scott Stegeman connected on a free throw four minutes into the game for the Jays' sixth point of the night, the home crowd erupted into a state of euphoria.

"That was set up at an assembly today," Jefferson City coach Blair Thompson said. "It's called Silent Night and on the sixth point of the game that's what was supposed to happen. It was a neat deal, it was different."

St. Louis University High School eventually quieted the crowd again with a fourth-quarter comeback for a 51-45 victory.
