Post Office to host another ‘Passport Fair’ Saturday
Friday, January 27, 2012
Mid-Missourians making out-of-the-country travel plans may want to add a stop at the Post Office Saturday morning.
Jefferson City’s Main Post Office, 133 W. High St., is among those across central and northeastern Missouri hosting passport fairs this weekend.
“Passport applicants must apply in person so many customers, especially families with children, appreciate the convenience of Saturday hours,” said Postmaster Don Knoth, in a news release.
Applicants must provide an “Application for Passport,” Form DS-11, which can be downloaded from the USPS website, www.usps.com/passport, and filled out before going to the Post Office.
The form also will be available at the passport fair Saturday.
Applicants, including infants, must present a proof of U.S. citizenship: a previous U.S. passport or a certified, government-issued birth certificate, or a Consular Report of Birth Abroad, a Certification of Birth, a Naturalization Certificate, or a Certificate of Citizenship.
A picture ID also is required.
