Pair arrested in MO suspected of thefts in 3 states

HANNIBAL, Mo. (AP) - Authorities believe that two people arrested at a northeast Missouri Walmart store may be responsible for thefts in three states.

The Hannibal Courier-Post (http://bit.ly/x7RYDE) reports that 46-year-old John Benson of Randolph, Minn., and 28-year-old Sonya Hernandez of Austin, Minn., were arrested Monday at the Walmart in Hannibal. Employees of the store told police they saw them concealing several items.

Police say the pair had an enclosed trailer in the parking lot that was filled with flat-screen televisions, entertainment systems, clothing and several other items believed to have been stolen from stores throughout Missouri, Iowa and Minnesota.

Both suspects are jailed on $50,000 cash-only bond. Neither had a listed attorney.
