Foundation to offer grants to New Bloomfield schools

The first two grants will be awarded March 2 to New Bloomfield R-3 District classrooms by the newly formed New Bloomfield Education Foundation.

Susie Hinrichs, foundation president, said the organization was formed by a group of parents to help advance academic achievement at New Bloomfield schools.

“We had heard that in some cases teachers were using their own money to buy supplies that are needed but not available because of budget constraints in classrooms. Our goal is to help fill gaps on needed supplies and advanced technology,” Hinrichs said.
